Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Ann Fontenot, 90 announces her passing on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Old St. Anns Cemetery in Mamou with Fr. Clinton Sensat Celebrant.
A loving mother and grandmother, Mary Ann will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Perry OConner and wife, Joy Deville OConner and Terry OConner both of Ville Platte and John Burke OConner and wife, Ruth Pride OConner of Denham Springs three step sons, Chris, John, and Michael Fontenot one step daughter, Joann Moore eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and thirteen greatgreat grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reme and Loccabie Bourque and a son, James Earl OConner.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Dr. Chuck Aswell for being not only her physician but a friend for so many years. She thought the world of you Doc. Also many thanks to the ICU staff of Mercy Regional Hospital in both Ville Platte and Eunice.
