VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Sunday, August 16, 2020, for Marie G. Duplechin, 79, who passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in Ville Platte, LA surrounded by her loving family.
Father Mitch Guidry, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Marie G. Duplechin was born on September 7, 1940 in Church Point, LA to Curley and Agnes Guidry. Marie was the epitome of all that is good, kind, patient, and loving in a mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved selflessly and generously without condition. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she loved them immensely. She never missed a baseball game or event that her grandchildren participated in. She loved traveling with her friends, and she enjoyed siting visiting with her neighbors over a good cup of coffee. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by those that knew her.
Marie is survived by her sons; Kevin Duplechin of Ville Platte, Thad Duplechin and wife Angel of Lafayette; and Brent Duplechin and wife Betsy of Vidrine; daughter, Sonya Duplechin of Lafayette; grandchildren, Marco Duplechin, Andrea Mack, Angelique Duplechin; Kevin Duplechin II, Emilee Duplechin, Caroline Duplechin, Christian Duplechin, John Michael Duplechin, Jake Ortego, and Alex Ortego; 14 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Terry Guidry of Opelousas and Shirley Ray Guidry of Gonzales.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Warren Duplechin; and parents, Curley and Agnes Guidry.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited by Father Mitch Guidry at 1:00 PM.
