Ville Platte - Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, July 21, 2018, with a mass of Christian burial for Margie A. Fontenot, 90, who passed away on July 19, 2018. Father Ben Pitre will conduct the mass. Entombment will take place at Evangeline Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Margie A. Fontenot was born July 08, 1928 in Lanse-Aux Paille to Tanzy Ardoin and Adia Chapman Ardoin, both of Chataignier.

She is survived by the love of her life, her high school sweetheart and husband of 71 years Mayner Fontenot; sons: Michael S. Fontenot and wife, Cathy, of Ville Platte, Brent Fontenot and wife, Louise, of Humble, TX, Tim Fontenot of Ville Platte, Pat Fontenot and wife, Pam, of Ville Platte; daughter, Annette Pellerin and husband, Ted, of New Iberia; ten grandchildren: Renee', Carrie, Erin, Kyle, Reese, Logan, Adam, Madeline, Jordan, and Dylan; great-grandchildren: Ally, Andrew, and Gavin; sister-in-law, Marie Ardoin; and countless relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Russell Ardoin.

Margie and her husband, Mayner, were faithful parishoners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of the Homemakers of Evangeline Parish, and was passionate about quilting. She always kept a gorgeous yard and loved tending to her flower beds and growing a vegetable garden. She was well-known for her Virginia Sweet pickles and fig preserves. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume Saturday at 9:00 AM until time of service at Noon. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Friday at 6:00 PM.
