Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Mabel Fusilier, 87 announces her passing on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Tee Mamou Cemetery in Ville Platte with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.
Mabel will be remembered for her 25 years of service in the Sacred Heart Choir and working with the Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court for 40 years. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Marion Brent Fusilier and wife, Ann of Jacksonville, Tx., Phillip James Fusilier and friend, JoAnn of Ville Platte, and Charles Randall Fusilier and wife, Joyce of Ville Platte; two daughters, Brenda Thomas and husband Tommy of Bayou Chicot and Nina Steward and husband, Steven E. of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one brother, Ray Mayeaux of Shreveport; one sister, Enora Manuel and husband, Tom of Shreveport; twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Fusilier; parents Clestin and Nazy Mayeaux; and three grandchildren, Quentin, Derrick, and Lance Fusilier.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
