VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Friday, February 26, 2021 for Lou Ella Fontenot 94, who passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Father Andrew Killeen, associate pastor at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.
Burial will take place at B.J. Fontenot Cemetery.
Lou Ella S. Fontenot was born on August 31, 1926 to Martin and Lena Soileau. She was a graduate of Grand Prairie High. She enjoyed spending time outdoor fishing and camping. Lou was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Deville, Rick Fontenot, and Brady Deville all of Bossier City; daughters, Patricia Rachal and husband, Calvin of Stonewall and Susan Nell Fontenot of Broussard; sister, Jane Francois; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her husband, John Harold Fontenot; her parents, Martin and Lena Soileau; sisters, Vena Campbell, Una Billeaudeau, Odeal Wilks, Joyce Davy and daughter-in-law Mary Fontenot.
Pallbearers will be: Joshua Fontenot, Jim Buchwald, John Geedy, Calvin Rachal, Scott Duff, and Christopher Youngblood.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 12:00 PM.
