Linda Ortego

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 PM Graveside Service at M.B. Fontenot Cemetery in Ville Platte, on Monday, January 3, 2022, for Linda Ann Ortego, 74, who passed away peacefully on December 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda Ann Ortego was born on July 18, 1947, in Terrebonne Parish to Harold and Ethel Matherne Leonard.  She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of  the Catholic Daughters.   Linda enjoyed crocheting.  She loved spending time outdoors camping.  She was wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Her greatest pride and joy was her family.  Taking care of her family and spending time with them was very important to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Sue Carpenter and husband, Barron of Houma and Danielle Fontenot and husband, Bobby of Ville Platte; son, Wayne DeHart and wife, Tonya of Houma; brothers, Robert Leonard and wife, Caremelte of Houma, Spencer Leonard and wife, Ruby of Houma; sister, Sandra Eschete and husband, Earl of Raceland and Patricia Illescas; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ethel Matherne Leonard; husband, Malcom Ortego; son, Stephen DeHart; and great-granddaughter, Charlie DeHart.
