Ville Platte Funeral services for Leta Belle Ferguson, the former Leta Belle Boone, 96 will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 2pm in First Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Kevin West will officiate the services.

A native of Ville Platte, Ms. Ferguson died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 11:50 am at her residence. She was a past member of the Home Demonstration Club, Ladies Fireman Auxiliary, Garden Club, and long standing member of the First Baptist Church in Ville Platte.

A loving mother and grandmother she is survived by three sons, John Murray Ferguson, Jr. of Bowie, Maryland, Kipling Edward Ferguson of Carlisle, Iowa, and Timothy Ray Ferguson of Ville Platte; three daughters, Beverly Nell Magnuson of DeRidder, Sally Belle Robinson of Ville Platte; and Debra Jean Manuel of Ville Platte; twenty grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Murray Ferguson; parents, Andrew Jackson Boone and Edith Maude Boone; a son, Michael Joseph Ferguson; brothers, Leonard, Dwight, Wilbur, Ed, A.J., and Lloyd Boone, and a sister, Jernel Croak.

Family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 6pm until 10pm and on Wednesday from 8am until time of services.
