Whiteville It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Leonard Brown, announces his passing on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. He was 81. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Rite of Committal followed in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Whiteville.
A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, Leonard known as Chunk will be lovingly remembered by those left behind to cherish his memory by all who knew and loved him especially his son, Roger Brown and his wife, Patricia of Bunkie two daughters, Judy B. Gaspard and her husband, Bruce of Whiteville and Diane LeBorde and her husband, Rayford of Hessmer one brother, Allen Brown of LaCombe two sisters, Zetta Lafleur and Laura Hensel both of Alexandria six grandchildren, Derrick LaBorde, Ashley Plauche, Steven Brown, Lauren Brown, Spencer Gaspard, and Amanda Gaspard and two great grandchildren, Tara LaBorde and Brianna LaBorde.
He now rests in heaven with his beloved wife, Dessie Higginbotham Brown son, Vincent Brown his parents, John Baptist and Edna Fontenot Brown a brother, Lawrence Brown and two sisters, Lorena Delafosse Andrus and Mary Armand.
Visitation was held Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte was charge of arrangements.
