Ville Platte It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lena Fontenot, 82 announces her passing on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Clinton Sensat Celebrant.
A loving mother, sister, and grandmother, Lena will be lovingly remembered by her son, Kearnie Lafleur, Jr. and wife, Judy of Youngsville three daughters, Jackie Cary and husband Bob Lawrence of Pine Prairie, Peggy Duplechin and husband, Gerald of Pine Prairie, and Rosie Manuel and husband, Brent of Ville Platte one brother, Roy Allen Vidrine of Ville Platte eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
She now rest in Heaven with her former husband, Dr. Reed Fontenot, Sr. parents, Amada and Lizzie Fontenot and a brother, Lee Burke Fontenot.
At the request of the family visiting hours will be observed Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Monday, August 3, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
