Ville Platte - Our hearts are heavy, as we have lost our father, grandfather and brother, Lee Burke Thompson, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the age of 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in the Platin Cemetery with Father Mitchell Guidry as Celebrant.

Mr. Thompson was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Lee Burke will be greatly missed by his children, Deborah Fontenot, Chris Thompson and Sherry Israel; his siblings, Anna Ruth Savant Bertrand and Beverly Jean Savant Michalski; 15 grandchildren, Nicholas Glenn Fontenot, Benjamin Lee Fontenot, Gabriel Brett Fontenot, Justin Thompson, Sonya Thompson, Chasity Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Logan Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Melissa Israel, ''Brock" Israel, Michelle Israel, Liz Israel, Monique and Erica Thompson; several great grandchildren, (Jacob & Jalynn Israel, Braden, Avery and Jackson Fontenot).

He will now rest in Heaven with his wife, Maudry Smith Thompson and one son, Jerry Thompson, his parents, Felix Thompson and Theotis Fontenot Thompson and his siblings, Mercy Dean Thompson Vidrine and Linus Savant. They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.

At the request of the Thompson family, visitation will be held on Friday August 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 P.M. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M.
