Lavina Thibodeaux Andrus, a resident of Covington, Louisiana, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the age of 80. She was born June 15, 1928 to the late Conrad and Emerante Hebert Thibodeaux. Lavina was the beloved wife of the late Louis Andrus, Jr. of Ville Platte, Louisiana. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Andrus Willig and son-in-law David Willig of Houston, Texas, her daughter, Diane Andrus Brown and son-in-law Richard Brown of Sarasota, Florida, her daughter, Pamela Andrus Wilkinson of London, England, her son, Don Louis Andrus and daughter-in-law Cindy Andrus, of Covington, Louisiana, and her son, Matthew Andrus and daughter-in-law Casey Andrus of McKinney, Texas, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Clarence Thibodeaux wife, Elaine of Parks, Louisiana and her sister, Suzanne Blanchard husband, Lester of Parks, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Vinet Melancon and Verna Leger and her two brothers, Ignace and Ernest Thibodeaux.

Lavina began her life in Breaux Bridge and from there lived in various places throughout southern Louisiana. She was a resident of Ethel, Louisiana for 30 years and then moved with her husband to Ville Platte where she lived until moving to Covington, ten years ago. She made a loving home for her family everywhere she lived and was always very involved in the local Catholic community. Lavina enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, bible classes, and traveling. Her love of life and strong spirit will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home, 709 West Main St., Ville Platte,

Louisiana, on Wednesday, May 13th from 6-9 P.M. Rosary Service at 7 PM and Thursday, May 14th from 8 A.M. to service time Services will move to Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church located at 1012 Dardeaux St., Ville Platte, for a funeral mass at 2 P.M. Interment will follow at the Tee Mamou Cemetery.
