PINE PRAIRIE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kyle David Landry, 17, announces his passing on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 . A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church of Pine Prairie on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Rite of Committal will follow at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Richard Broussard acting as Celebrant.
A beloved favorite of his family and classmates, Kyle was known for his integrity and exceptional manner of putting others first. His quiet manner made everyone feel comfortable and individually special. He could be fun and witty, but everyone knew he was one you could count on. Kyle was an incredible honor student. He was a member of BETA, FBLA, and the Math and Science Club. He was also a valued member of the Pine Prairie High School cross country team. Kyle loved hunting, fishing, riding horses, playing the guitar, and spending time with his friends and family. His ambition was to have a career in aviation. He will be remembered for his impeccable manners and his incredible work ethic. His family and community will remember his compassion and care for his sisters, who called him Bubba. Kyle became a warrior and witness of his faith and received the sacrament of confirmation on May 15 at St. Peters Catholic Church.
A loving son, grandson, brother, and friend , Kyle will be missed by his mother, Laurie Brassette and husband Jeffrey of Bayou Chicot his father, Raymond P. Landry and wife Torrey of Tate Cove Paternal grandfather, Raymond C. Landry of Morgan City, Maternal grandparents, Glenn and Cynthia Wilks of Ville Platte, grandfather Terry and wife Linda McDaniel of Rayne, Roland and Cindy Brassette of Ville Platte and Kathryn Brassette of Baton Rouge three sisters, Mallory Landry and Isabella Brassette both of Bayou Chicot, and Kelsey Deshotels of Tate Cove, one brother, Gannon Deshotels of Tate Cove also by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends. His memory will most certainly be cherished.
Kyle now rests in Heaven with his paternal grandmother, Joyce Landry and maternal greatgrand parents, Oswell and Mae LeDoux.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church of Pine Prairie beginning at 5:00 PM Thursday, May 24, 2012 until 10:00 PM They will reopen at 9:00 AM on Friday May 25, 2012 until time of services.
