Kevin James Rider

Kevin Rider, born August 13, 1981, was a lifelong resident of Ville Platte. He passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023. He was a mason by trade and enjoyed throwing knives at targets with his nephew, Noah (AKA Guru). He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Marilyn Manuel, dad, Harold Manuel, daddy, Jessie Rider, mom, Liz Rider; 5 brothers: Jessie Rider and Tim Manuel from Ville Platte, Eric Rider and companion, Geniece, of Ville Platte, Paul Glynn Manuel and wife, Missy, of Mamou, and Chris Manuel and wife, Miranda, of Ville Platte; sister, Bonnie Manuel and husband, Wayne, of Pine Prairie; 2 daughters: Katelyn Sonnier and husband, A.J., of Lafayette, and Brianna Nicole of Ville Platte; his son, Dylan Blaze of Ville Platte; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Preceding him in death are: his daughter, Elijah Faith Rider; sister, Christina Ann Rider; maternal grandparents, Merlin Firmin and Gene Menier; and paternal grandparents, Murray Rider, Mercy Rider, and Alice Manuel.

At the request of the family visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
