Kathleen, or "Kitty" as she was known by many of her friends, touched countless lives in the community by her work as a public health nurse at the Evangeline Parish Health Unit. She began her career as a RN after graduating from Touro Infirmary College in New Orleans. After a more than 30-year career as a nurse, including time serving as Director of Nurses, Mrs. Kitty retired from the health unit. This mother of 5 enjoyed sewing, crocheting and other crafts. After many years of creating everything from school uniforms to home décor, Mrs. Kitty's retirement dream job came to fruition as Owner and Operator of "The Craft Warehouse".
Her devotion to family was apparent every day. This is where she left her legacy of faith in God, service to others and love for all. She set a high standard and great example as she cared for the ill, infirm and newly born family members. When speaking with Mrs. Kitty, it was apparent that her children and grandchildren were the lift of her life.
Kitty is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Reed (Wap), her parents, Oscar J. Andrepont and Carrie T. Andrepont and her siblings, Blanche A. Perio, Doris Rita Andrepont and Yves Clary Andrepont.
Her memories will live on through her family. She is survived by five daughters, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Kitty and Wap's children include: Barbara Claudet (Rene), Rita Williams, Carol Reed (Janice Prejean), Brenda Joubert (Jessie) and Jackie Cassidy (Ashley).
Kitty's family would like to extend a special thanks to Donna Perrodin, Delores Tezano, Marie Goodwin and Jane Dupre.
