VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Joseph Rodney Fontenot announces his passing on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Pastor Kevin West as Celebrant.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Rodney will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty one years, Vercie Fontenot, his two sons, Charles Fontenot of Ville Platte and Scott Fontenot and his wife, Kate, of Washington DC. Mr. Fontenot also leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one brother, Pervis Fontenot of Tennessee and two sisters, Dorothy Fusilier of Ville Platte and Velma David of Metairie.
He now joins in Heaven his beloved daughter, Wendy Fontenot, his parents, Burley and Clamie Fontenot and two sisters, Nazel Vidrine and Wilda Helmer. He will be welcomed by all.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, April 13, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
