Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Ray Monier, 63, will be held Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 1pm in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Te Mamou Cemetery. Fr. Josh Guillory will officiate the services.

Mr. Monier, a resident of Ville Platte and retired postal supervisor, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at his residence.

A loving husband, father, and brother he is survived by his wife, Sandra F. Monier of Ville Platte; one son, Dr. Charles S. Monier and wife, Kristine of Ville Platte; one daughter, Katra M. Morrison and fiance, Bryan Brignac of Broussard; one sister, Ethlyn M. Coreil of Ville Platte; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Holmes, Jenifer Monier, Dori Todd Monier, Michael Monier, Logan Morrison, and Alyssa Brignac.

He is preceded in death by a son, Jude Mitchell Todd Monier; his parents, Darcenus and Lois G. Monier; and a brother, Sylvan Monier.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 10:30am until time of services. A rosary will be held 6pm Wednesday.
