St. Landry Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Lee Soileau, 85, will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 4 p.m. in St. Theresas Catholic Church in St. Landry. Burial will follow in the St. Theresas Cemetery. Fr. Richard Broussard will officiate the services.

Mr. Soileau, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the South Pacific during World War II, died Monday, September 29, 2008.

A loving, father, brother, and grandfather he is survived by one son, Robert Soileau and finance Sally Hadley of St. Landry; one daughter, Patsy Soileau of St.Landry; one brother, Melvin Soileau of Whiteville; one sister, Verna Guillory of Ville Platte; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hillman and husband, Chip of St. Landry, Robert Soileau, Jr. of St. Landry, and Michael Soileau and Carla Longino of St. Landry; five great grandchildren; and a long time companion, Anita Soileau.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Joubert Soileau; parents, Clifton and Alice Soileau; a brother, Elton Soileau; and a sister, Hazel Lafleur.

Family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 5 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday and a veterans services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday.
