VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Lionel LaFleur, 80, announces his passing on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of all Saints at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery will Father Mitchell Guidry, celebrant.

Joseph, or Lionel as he was known by many, was an honest man with a great soul. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and loved his family dearly.

A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, "Lionel" will be missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernadette Fontenot LaFleur of Ville Platte, sons, Tony LaFleur and wife Melanie of Ville Platte, Brent LaFleur and wife Katherine of Ville Platte, and Dwayne LaFleur of Ville Platte, daughter, Lisa Thibodeaux of Ville Platte, brother, Vernon LaFleur and wife Jeanette of Ville Platte and sister, Barbara Chapman and husband Lionel of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 11 grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren.

Joseph will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Adam and Lilly Soileau LaFleur and brother Charles LaFleur. They will be awaiting his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.

At the request of the LaFleur family, a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 11 AM until 10 PM and will reopen on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 8 AM until time of services. A rosary will be recited in Mr. LaFleur's honor on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 6 PM.
