VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph "Tony" Johnson, age 54, a native of Mamou and a resident of Marksville, announces his passing on Friday, April 1, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 1 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Jules Cemetery with Father Tom Voorhies, celebrant.
At the request of the Johnson family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte Sunday morning at 8:30 until time of services.
An avid outdoorsman, Tony, as he was known by many, loved to hunt and fish.
A loving father, brother, grandfather and friend, Tony will be greatly missed by his sons, Joseph Tony Johnson Jr. and wife, Marie of Mamou, Jacob Johnson of Mamou, brother, Jay Fontenot of Eunice, and sisters, Sheila Johnson and husband Shannon of Ville Platte, Paula Johnson of Lake Charles and Monica Fontenot of Carencro. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his two grandchildren, Kaleb and Jessie Johnson.
He will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Alfred James and Ethel Lee Johnson, daughters, Monica Johnson, Crystal Johnson, sister, Linda Johnson, niece Caitlyn Fontenot and great nephew, Kylen Leday
Arrangements are entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, La.
