Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Joseph E. Ortego, 24, will be held Monday, November 26, 2007 at 1pm at St. Peter Catholic Chruch in Pine Prairie, La. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Pine Prairie, La. Father Richard Broussard will officiate the services.

Mr. Ortego, a resident of Pine Prairie, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, La

Survivors include his father, Wayne Ortego of Pine Prairie; his mother Jeanette Prather Guillot and her husband, Richard of Bayou Chicot; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Eva Ortego of Ville Platte; maternal grandparents, Edwin and Jenora Prather of Lake Charles; a sister, Dana Marie Ortego of Pine Prairie; a brother, Hubert Prather of Bayou Chicot; a girlfriend, Kellie Godeaux of Mamou; nine nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and close friends; three uncles, Anthony Ortego and his wife, Kelly of Ville Platte, James Ortego of Ville Platte, and Edwin Prather Jr and his wife, Janie of MS; two aunts, Martha Trahan and her husband, Dennis of Lake Charles and Gwendolyn Droody and her husband, James of Buna, TX.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Brandy Vickers; a brother, Keith Wayne Ortego; maternal grandparents, Joyce and Lovelace Suire; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Moise Ortego and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jones; and maternal great-grandparents, Nora and Alida Broussard and Aaron and Bertha Prather.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 11am until 9pm and on Monday, November 26, 2007, from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be held at 6pm Sunday evening.
