Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph M. Belleau, 71, announces his passing on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte.

Joe will be remembered for his work as music director at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier for numerous years and cantor at St. Anns Catholic Church in Mamou. He was owner of Belleaus Seafood in Mallet and owner of J J AC and Refrigeration in Ville Platte as well as a 4th Degree Knight. A loving father, Joe will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Julie Ann Belleau of Savannah, Tn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Lydie Belleau.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
