VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Calvin Ardoin, 89, announces his passing on July 27, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Jason Vidrine, celebrant.
A loving father and grandfather, Calvin leaves behind two daughters: Janel Fontenot and companion Earl Belleau of Ville Platte and Peggy McDaniel and husband Mason of Baton Rouge. His memory will be cherished also by his six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He now rests with his wife Ruby Ortego Ardoin, his parents Odin and Amy Pitre Ardoin, his brothers Audrey Ardoin, Cyrus Ardoin, and Horrace Ardoin, his sisters Thelma Ardoin Manuel, Ollie Ardoin, and Sue Sylvester, his grandson Christopher McDaniel and his soninlaw Clyde Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in his honor Monday evening at 6:00 PM.
