VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of John B. Bat Guillory announces his passing on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 Friday, March 09, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Garrett McIntyre acting as Celebrant.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Bat leaves behind his devoted wife of fifty three years, Beverly Guillory of Ville Platte and two daughters, Phyllis Stagg and her husband, Neil of Whiteville and Sophia Guillory of Ville Platte. He is also survived by his dear sister, Anna Lee Siffert. His memory will most certainly be kept alive by his ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren they were truly the light of his life.
While in the United States Air Force, Bat served his country with great pride and honor during the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Bats Texaco Station in Ville Platte for over thirty seven years. During his spare time he enjoyed to hunt and fish but his true passion in life was his family and friends he will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He now joins in Heaven his dear parents, Arnold and Elva Guillory and five brothers and five sisters they await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Thursday, March 8, 2012 until 10:00 PM that evening.
The Funeral Home will reopen Friday, March 9, 2012 at 8:00 AM and remain so until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited in his honor Thursday evening at 6:30 PM.
