Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of John Rogers Brown, 71 announces his passing on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 1:00 a.m. at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Mario Romero Celebrant.

Rogers will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce Catoire Brown of Ville Platte; two sons, Jessie Brown and wife, Linda of Marksville and Clayton Brown of Grand Prairie; three daughters, Ruth Brown Sebastien and husband, David of Ville Platte, Brenda Brown Deshotel and husband, Johnny of Ville Platte, and Cindy Brown Paten and husband, Erwin of Chicot; two brothers, Curtis Brown and Gussie Brown both of Tate Cove; two sisters, Jeanette McDaniel and Joycie Manuel both of Tate Cove; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arese and Tilley Brown; three grandchildren, Adam Corona, Dustin Brown, and Lacy Sebastien; one brother, Charles Brown; and two sisters, Gloria Dean Johnson and Attilise Johnson.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Friday, July 10, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening.

Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
