VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of John Nelson Andrus, 89, announces his passing on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:30 PM Friday, September 2, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow at the Te Mamou Cemetery. Father Mario Romero will be officiating the services.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, John is survived by his beloved wife, Velma Bertrand Andrus of Ville Platte. He also leaves behind one son, Glenn Andrus and his wife, Joan, of Ville Platte and two daughters, Vickie Brady of Lecompte and Kay Bhatti and her husband Tan of Baton Rouge. His memory will most certainly be cherished by his nine grandchildren and his ten great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Eve Andrus, his son, Fred Andrus and his soninlaw, Perry W. Brady.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM that evening. It will resume at 8:00 AM Friday morning and continue until time of services.
A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
