VILLE PLATTE –Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, September 2, 2021, for Joel Rodney Johnston, 68, who passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, in Alexandria.Brother James Roberts will be conducting services.

Burial will take place in Turkey Creek Cemetery.

Joel Rodney Johnston was born on September 1, 1952, in Ville Platte, LA., to Steve and Mable Roberts Johnston. He spent many years working in the trucking business, as both an owner and operator. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his two brothers, Steve D. Johnston and wife, Dee of Woodworth, and Melvin Johnston and wife, Alice of Turkey Creek, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mable Roberts Johnston.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
