“We ride and never worry about the fall, I guess that's just the cowboy in us all”
VILLE PLATTE - It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the passing of Jody Louis Trahan, a father, grandfather, and friend to many. He left this world suddenly on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the age of 54.
Born on March 6, 1970, in Opelousas, LA, Jody spent his life in Grand Prairie, LA, surrounded by the beauty of nature that he dearly cherished. With his gentle spirit and hardworking nature, Jody devoted years of service in the agriculture industry at Flat Town Farm Supply, caring for the land, animals, and those around him with unwavering dedication. Through his work, he cultivated lasting relationships and a legacy of integrity and kindness.
Jody often found solace and joy in time spent outdoors and in the company of his loved ones. His warm smile and caring demeanor endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be remembered by his five children, Justin Reed, Chelsie Buller and her husband Matthew, Brandi Soileau and her husband Craig Jr., Jaden Manuel, and Kintasia Guillory: his ten grandchildren, Kamrie, Olivia, Aubrey, Piper, Vivian, Karson, Watson, Aubree, Bentlee and Paislee. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Joseph Shane Trahan and many nieces and nephews.
Jody was preceded in death by his parents, Athanas "Nue" Trahan, and Bertha C. Trahan, as well as one sister, Laura Lynn Perrodin.
