Jessie Fontenot

VILLE PLATTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jessie Ray Fontenot at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte, La.  Father Mitch Guidry will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery.

Jessie Ray Fontenot, 85, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022, in Opelousas, LA. Jessie was born on September 6, 1936, in Point Blue, LA to Iry and Curldy Soileau Fontenot.  Jessie worked for the City of Ville Platte for several years and later retired from the city.  He loved to play the guitar and sing country music.

He is survived numerous extended family members and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Iry and Curldy Soileau Fontenot.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM.  Father Mitch Guidry will recite a rosary at 1:30 Pm on Thursday.
