VILLE PLATTE-Funeral services will be held at a 1:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Thursday, February 8, 2018, for Jessie Rene Fontenot, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Ville Platte, LA.
Father Jason Vidrine, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery in Ville Platte.
Jessie Rene Fontenot was born in Bayou Chicot, LA on September 29, 1927 to Aurelis and Anna Belle Landreneau.
She is survived by her three sons, Keith McDaniel and wife Coopey of Eunice, Kevin McDaniel and wife Jamie of Ville Platte and Joe Fontenot and wife Sue of Lafayette; one step-son, Francis Keith Fontenot of St. Martinville; two daughters, Billie Jean Vidrine of Ville Platte and Benjie Gaspard and husband Mike of Quitman, La; two step-daughters, Jonetta Thompson and husband David of Lafayette and Charlotte Savoy and husband Arthur of Lafayette; sisters, Priscilla Love Fontenot of Ville Platte and Perry Joan Holleman of Lafayette; twelve grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death her parents, Aurelis Landreneau and Anna Belle Guillory Landreneau; her 1st husband, Floyd Stafford McDaniel; her 2nd husband, Melvin Joseph Fontenot, Sr.; two grandsons, Jacob Floyd McDaniel and Michael Gaspard, Jr.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday by Deacon Ben Soileau.
