VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jesse Wayne Fontenot, 80, announces his passing on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Mario Romero officiating services.
At the request of the Fontenot family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in his honor Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
Jesse dedicated his life to educating and counseling the youth of our community. His leadership and guidance touched many lives.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Jesse will be sadly missed and never forgotten by the love of his life, Nelda Lane Soileau Fontenot. Jesse and Nelda were married for 60 years and had three daughters: Tina Guillory and husband Raymond of Ville Platte, Johanna Hebert and husband Ron of Columbia, Maryland, and Kim Pucheu and husband Guy of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren: Morgan Guillory, Jake Guillory and Alexis, Alex Guilllory and Sarah, Amelie Hebert and Michael, Arianne Hebert and Micah, Ian Hebert and Marisa, Zachary Pucheu and Christina, and Joshua Pucheu and Blair and his six great grandchildren.
He now rests with his parents Eubert Joseph and Beulah Guillory Fontenot.
