Ville Platte ~ It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jerry L. Dupre, 77, announces his passing on Friday, June 17, 2016 at his residence in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday ,June 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park with Father Matthew Bazare as Celebrant.
Jerry was a Member of the Sheriff Posse for 58 years, Louisiana Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred. He was also a member of the Evangeline Parish Cattlemen's Association.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 ½ years, Jeanette F. Dupre of Ville Platte; his children, Kerry Dupre and wife, Jeanne and Cynthia "Cindy" Dupre Young all of Ville Platte; three grandchildren, Callie Young Vidrine and husband, Bret, Jenna Cay Young Stoma and husband, Tre and Sarah E. Dupre; five great-grandchildren, Catherine, Dominic and Joseph Vidrine and Olivia and Rose Stoma.
He will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, Hillry and Ethel Dupre and one grandchild, Jessica Nicole Young. They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts
The Dupre family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday June 19, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Ardoin Funeral Home in Ville Platte. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 A.M. on Monday until time of services. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening starting at 7:00 P.M.
