Jeanette M McDaniel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in Ville Platte, Louisiana at the age of 84.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte.  Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Alex Lancon officiating services.

Jeanette was born on Wednesday, October 25, 1939, in Ville Platte. She was known for her strong will and her unwavering love and care for others. She had a heart full of compassion and treated everyone she met with kindness and respect. She had a genuine love for people and always had a smile on her face.

Gardening was one of Jeanette's greatest passions. She found solace and joy in nurturing flowers and plants. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant gardens that surrounded her home. Alongside gardening, she enjoyed canning the fruits of her labor and sharing them with family and friends.

In the kitchen, Jeanette's talents shone brightly as she whipped up delicious meals for her loved ones. Gumbo was among her favorite foods to indulge in. Sunday dinners held a special place in her heart as she cherished the time spent gathered around her kitchen table with family.  Jeanette had an appreciation for Cajun music and could often be found tapping her feet to its lively rhythms. The infectious melodies brought joy to her soul and uplifted those around her.  Attending church was an essential part of Jeanette's life. It provided her with spiritual nourishment and connected her with a community that she held dear to her heart.

Throughout her life, Jeanette accomplished many things that made her proud. One significant achievement was being involved with Acadiana Camp Bluebird and serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for over 30 years. Her dedication to helping others in their time of need was truly commendable.

Jeanette's family meant everything to her. She treasured every opportunity to be with them. The presence of family brought warmth to Jeanette's home and filled it with love.  She leaves behind her daughter, Susan Kingston and husband, Phillip, and her son, Julian McDaniel and wife, Lisa.

Jeanette leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her grandchildren: Chad Kingston (Alyssa), Angie Taylor (Corey), Betsy Landreneau (Lance), and Isaac McDaniel (Kasey). The joy of her life continued to grow with her great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Kynlee, Brittany, Austin, Landen, Finley, Abram, Ella, and William.  Jeanette is also survived by her brother, Curtis Brown.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Arise Brown and Tilly Guillory, her loving husband, Francis Luke McDaniel, her siblings: Rogers Brown, Rodney Brown, Ethel Lee Johnson, Joyce Manuel, Charles Brown, Gussy Brown, and Dean Johnson. Their bond was strong throughout their lives as they navigated both the joys and challenges that came their way.
