Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of James Todd Ortego, 52 announces his passing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery in Grand Prairie with Fr. Melancon Celebrant.
An avid hunter, drag racer, and an excellent carpenter, James was a loving father, son, brother, and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary Belle Noel of Ville Platte a son, Brandon Ortego and wife, Christyna of Lafayette three brothers, Roger Dale Ortego, Kent Ortego, and Glenn Ortego all of Ville Platte and two grandchildren, Barrett and Brylee Ortego.
He is preceded in death by his father, Linton Ortego.
The family request that visiting hours be observed Monday, March 22, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening.
