Funeral services for Mr. James Edward Fontenot, Sr., 62, will be held Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 1:30pm in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Fr. Gene Tremie will officiate the services.

Mr. Fontenot, a resident of Ville Platte and owner of Georges Starter and Alternator Shop, died Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 9:30pm at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia R. Fontenot of Ville Platte; one son, James E. Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Donna of Ville Platte; two step sons, Edley J. Fontenot and wife, JoAnn of Pine Prairie and Earl J. Fontenot, Jr. of Ville Platte; three daughters, Tammy Hanks and husband, Raymond of Port Neches, Tx, Pamela Burt and husband, Kevin of Port Neches, Tx, and Stephanie McCuller and husband, Randall of Nederland, Tx; two step daughters, Cheryl Vizinat and husband, Marshall of Whiteville and Tina Soileau and husband, Blaine of Eunice; two brothers, Kermy Fontenot of Ville Platte, Nelson Fontenot of Pine Prairie, and Nolan Fontenot of Ville Platte; one half brother, Bennett J. Fontenot of Melbourne, Fl; one step brother, Grady Fontenot of Ville Platte; one half sister, Leona Guillory of Sweetlake; four step sisters, Grace Soileau of Ville Platte, Ethel Young of Eunice, Charlene Matt of Mamou, and Nina Primeaur of Westlake; sixteen grandchildren, Ashley Fontenot, Raymond Hanks, Jr., Seth Hanks, Kevin Burt, Jr., Tyler Burt, Jessica Burt, Craig Harper, Robert Harper, Zac Bell, Wyatt Fontenot, Carmen Fontenot, Courtney Pommier, Spencer Pommier, Madison Vizinat, Drake Soileau, Katlyn Soileau, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 from 10am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Friday.

Mr. Fontenot is preceded in death by his parents, Seus and Mary Fontenot, his 1st wife, Gay H. Fontenot, brothers, Edley, Earl, and Herbert Fontenot; half sister, Hazel Orgereon; step sisters, Fernella Fontenot and Patsy Ledoux; and a grandchild, Faith Fontenot.
