Ivy Estilette

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, for Ivy Estilette, 88, who passed away peacefully on January 26, 2020 in Ville Platte, LA surrounded by his loving family.

Father Austin Leger will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place at Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ivy Estilette was born in Church Point, LA on June 8, 1931 to John and Neomi Venable Estilette.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict.  Ivy was a hard worker and he worked tirelessly for his family.  He owned and operated Ivy’s Radio and TV Repair for many years.  He also owned and operated a dairy farm.  He would milk cows before and after a full day’s work.  After he retired from the TV repair shop, he purchased a truck to haul grain.  Ivy also had a productive hay farm.  He was a kind and loving man who gave his all.  His greatest accomplishment in life was his family.  They were his pride and joy and they will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his sons, David Kim Estilette and wife Claire, James Daniel Estilette and wife Suzanne; daughter, Elizabeth Estilette Dupuis and husband Michael; grandchildren, Jeff, Casey, Lauren, Leslie, Kellie, Grant, Spencer, Zachary, Haden, and Ryan; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Soileau Estilette; grandson, Kyle Dupuis; parents, John and Neomi Venable Estilette; sisters, Violet Stanford and Louanna Richard; and brother Bobby Estilette.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego on Monday at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
