VILLE PLATTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, September 24, 2018, for Ida Fontenot Enicke, 85, who passed away on September 21, 2018 in Ville Platte, LA.

Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Ida Fontenot Enicke was born in Ville Platte, LA on July 18, 1933 to Lindsey Fontenot and Edna Deshotel Fontenot. Ida, or MeIda as many knew her, was determined (sometimes stubbornly so) and loved to laugh. As a beautician, she opened her own business Maison de Beaute' where she sold cosmetics, beautified ladies, and experimented with her own hair color for many years. She brought that determination and love into her faith as well where she served as Eucharistic Minister and was part of a number of prayer and rosary groups. She had a strong devotion to Mary, which lead to pilgrimages to Medjogorje, Lourdes, and Fatima. In fact, it was during her trip to Portugal that she has "some of the best food" she had ever tasted, although in her family she was always the cooking queen bee. Jules and Ida's home was the center of family life and played host to infinite family dinners, children, and memorably loud Christmas parties. Ida was incredibly loved, and she gave that love in return.

She is survived by five sons, Benny Enicke and wife Arlene of Vidrine, Byron Enicke and wife Debbie of Ville Platte, Gary Enicke and wife Sally of Ville Platte, Myles Enicke and wife Pat of Ville Platte, and Bart Enicke and wife Jana of Ville Platte; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; and one sister in law, Ethel Fontenot.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Jules Enicke; parents, Lindsey Fontenot and Edna Deshotel Fontenot; two brothers, Delridge Fontenot and Q.L Fontenot; two sisters, Lela Belle Aucoin and Nora Enicke; and great granddaughter, Alivia.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:30 PM by Deacon Ben Soileau. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
