Howard "Big Boy" Ardoin, Jr.

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 for Howard “Big Boy” Ardoin, Jr., 83, who passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte surrounded by his loved ones.

Brother Daniel Holsomback will be officiating funeral services.

Burial will take place in Fontenot Cemetery in Pine Prairie, LA.

Howard “Big Boy” Ardoin, Jr was born in Washington, LA on July 19, 1936 to Howard Ardoin, Sr. and Hazel Vidrine Ardoin. A resident of Pine Prairie, he owned and operated Ardoin’s Mobile Home Movers for over 30 years.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time outside gardening and working in his yard.  “Big Boy’ was a very loving, compassionate, and kind-hearted man.  His greatest love was the love he had for his family.  His favorite past time was spending time with his family and making many cherished memories.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Amy Ardoin; Sons, Blane Ardoin and wife Cindy, Craig Ardoin and wife Eva, and Keith Ardoin and wife Sharon; daughter Pam Goudeau and husband Andrew; grandchildren, Hannah Cole and husband Dustin, Jessie Perron and husband Dustin, Mikey Ardoin and wife Katie, Crystal Fontenot and husband Shannon, Melissa Estilette and husband Grant, Steven Ardoin and wife Kindsey, Keisha Anderson, Morgan Goudeau, and Hunter Goudeau; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Jane Dupont.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Ardoin, Sr. and Hazel Vidrine Ardoin; sister, Stella Johnson; and brother in laws, Marion Dupont and Kearney Johnson.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gene Lebouef at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.  Visitation will resume at on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
