VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church in Ville Platte on Tuesday, April 03, 2018 for Hope "Pinky" Wiggins Demourelle, 86, who passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Ville Platte, LA surrounded by her loved ones.

Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Rite of Committal will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ville Platte, LA.

Hope "Pinky" Demourelle was born in Ville Platte, LA on September 28, 1931 to Dr. J.H. and Claudia Ardoin Wiggins. A life-long resident of Ville Platte she graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She went on to receive degrees from USL and LSU. Hope was the Ville Platte High School librarian from 1967 until her retirement in 1996. Ms. Pinky continued to work at the public library from 1997 until 2011. She was a lover of books and the stories they held for people. She encouraged so many to find books that interested them and to love the library the way she did. She taught several generations of families' children and inspired all those she came into contact with.

She is survived by her daughter, Dale Gaudet; sons, Sidney Gaudet, Jr and Walter Gaudet; grandchildren, Daniel Guidry, Robert Deville, Sarah Rhodes, Danielle Gaudet, Matt Lahr, and Victor Gaudet; and great-grandchildren, Hope Guidry, Louis Deville, Lelia Deville, Dylan Guidry, Matthew Guidry, Frances Rhodes, and Kelsey Ardoin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Dr. J.H. and Claudia Ardoin Wiggins; brother, Joseph Wiggins; daughter, Claudia Quinlivan; and grandchildren, Brandon Gaudet, and Michael Dunigan.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
