Hersey Fontenot

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Wednesday, January 6, 2020 for Hersey G. Fontenot, 83, who passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Father Andrew Killeen, associate pastor at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct services.

Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery Prairie Ronde in Prairie Ronde, LA.

He is survived by his son, Kent Fontenot and wife, Lorraine of Ville Platte; three grandchildren, Justin Fontenot and wife, Delle of Ville Platte, Katie Wagner and husband, Jacob of Baton Rouge and Brian Fontenot of Ville Platte; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Mila Fontenot; and sister-in-law, Dolores Fontenot of Ville Platte; and his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Gabriel Fontenot and Eugenie Belaire Fontenot; his wife, Bonnie Pitre Fontenot; and his brother, Clannie Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.  A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM.
