Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Herman Ortego, 87, announces his passing on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Mr. Ortego, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, will be sadly missed by his son Glenn Ortego and wife Geraldine of Carencro, one brother Allen Ortego of Eunice, four grandchildren Mitchell Prudhomme, Heather Bourque, Ashley Fontenot, and Rebecca Ortego, and four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ned and Daisy Tate Ortego, wife, Ruby Ortego, and a daughter, Brenda O. Prudhomme.
Family request that visiting hours be observed Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 9:30 pm and again on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 6:00 pm.
