VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Hazzie Y. Lavergne, 84, announces her passing on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, October 22, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Park Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry celebrant.
Hazzie loved gardening, cooking, and sewing, but above all she loved spending time with her family. A loving mother, sister, and grandmother, She will be greatly missed by her two sons Larry Lavergne and his friend, Gale Stanford and Gary Lavergne and wife Faye, one daughter Sue Fontenot and husband Kenneth all of Lanse Aux Pailles, one sister Della Dupre of Prairie Rhonde, six grandchildren Richard Lavergne, Rhena Garcia, Lance Lavergne, McKenzy Lewis, Lana Quibodeaux and Amber Carter, and nine great grandchildren Hunter, Andre, Kennedy, Alex, Marie, Abby, Aidan, Jeremy, and Alyssa.
She now joins in heaven her beloved husband Clevins Lavergne, her granddaughter Marvel Lavergne, her daughterinlaw Charlotte Lavergne, and her parents Marent and Elda Young.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and again on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in her honor Sunday evening at 6:00 PM.
