VILLE PLATTE - Harry Havard "Jocko" Hollahan, who was born on Thursday, October 27, 1955, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the age of 69.
Harry had a diverse career, engaging in many jobs throughout his life. His experiences spanned from being a dedicated truck driver to serving in law enforcement, roles that showcased his commitment to hard work and community service.
A proud veteran, Harry’s military journey took place in the United States Marines, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and camaraderie that remained with him throughout his life.
Known for his vibrant personality, Harry loved life and lived it to its fullest. He embraced every moment, cherishing the simple pleasures that came his way. His zest for life was particularly evident in his numerous hobbies, which included fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, and riding his motorcycle. Each of these activities brought him joy and offered him opportunities to connect with nature and friends.
Harry leaves behind his son, Dustin Hollahan of Ville Platte; brother, Chris Hollahan (Amanda) of Vidrine; two sisters, Angie Rodriquez (Oscar) of Mamou and Lisa Hollahan of Whiteville; aunt, Connie Higginbotham (Richard); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry L. and Jenny Andrus Hollahan; son, Joseph Hollahan; and Dustin’s mother, Margaret Coker.
As we remember Harry, we reflect on the impact he had on those around him, touching many lives with his humor, and adventurous spirit. His memory will remain alive in the hearts of all those he loved, and he will be dearly missed.
