VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Monday, March 18, 2019 for Gussie Vidrine Fontenot, 92, who passed away on March 17, 2019 in Ville Platte.

Father Dubroc will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.

Gussie Vidrine Fontenot was born in Plaisance, Louisiana on October 27, 1926 to Marshall Vidrine and Eulie Fontenot Vidrine.

Gussie is survived by her special friends Gilbert W. and Margaret Aucoin; their sons: Jean-Jacques Aucoin and wife Rodi and Louie Aucoin and wife Shannon; and their grandchildren: Emile, Amelie, Ashton, and Ivan Renee. The Aucoin family meant the world to Gussie and she considered them her family. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her Godchild/nephew, Harold Fontenot and wife Theresa; great nieces and nephew: Sharon Brignac and husband Dwight, Shannon Fontenot and wife Samantha, and Shane Fontenot and wife Melanie; and great great nieces and nephews: Damon, Katlyn, Sarah, Caroline, Kelsey, Erin, Lilly, Roddey, Janae, Joanie, and Garrett.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Delouis Fontenot; sister, Prudence V. Fontenot; and brother-in-law, Jessie Mae Fontenot.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Vile Plate on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 9:30 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 11:00 AM.
