Gloria Faye Chapman

VILLE PLATTE -- Gloria Faye Chapman, a loving and caring mother, has left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her. She peacefully passed away on November 1, 2023, in her hometown of Ville Platte, Louisiana. Born on February 12, 1943, in Ville Platte, Gloria's journey was filled with moments of joy, compassion, and strength.

Gloria dedicated ten years of her life to working at Heritage Manor in Ville Platte, where she touched the lives of many residents. Her compassionate nature and strong spirit made her an invaluable member of the community. Gloria's proudest accomplishments included being named Resident of the Month at Heritage Manor and receiving the prestigious title of Most Active Mother of the Year.

Beyond her career, Gloria had a passion for various hobbies and interests. She found joy in sewing and making blankets that became cherished keepsakes for her loved ones. Her green thumb shone brightly as she tended to her flowers and cultivated beautiful gardens. These activities brought solace to Gloria's heart and allowed her creative spirit to flourish.

Although she is no longer with us physically, Gloria's presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who loved her. She is survived by four daughters: Belinda Berzas (and the late Bobby Berzas), Cynthia and her husband Jody Fontenot both from Ville Platte, LA, Lorina and her husband Davis Thibodeaux Jr. of Gretna, LA, and Elizabeth Hammill of Lafayette, LA. Additionally, Gloria leaves behind an enormous legacy of 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The legacy of Gloria Faye Chapman will be honored through a series of services organized to celebrate her remarkable life. Friends and family are invited to attend the Visitation event at Belaire Cove Chapel on November 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be begin at 2:15 PM.  Gloria will be laid to rest in the Belaire Cove Mausoleum.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Turlin and Olive Menier, her son Emery Joseph “Jr.” Ortego, and her granddaughter Angenette Renee' Berzas.
