Glen Durbin

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Service will be held for Glen Allen Durbin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte, La.  Pastor Kevin West will conduct funeral services.  Burial will take place at Evangeline Memorial Park.

Glen Allen Durbin, 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. He was born on August 13, 1939, in Bunkie, LA to Allen and Rachel Foster Durbin.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  Glen worked offshore for many years as a rig engineer and owned and operated Carolyn’s Wholesale Bait and Tackle in Toledo Bend and Ville Platte.  He enjoyed visiting his camp in Toledo Bend, fishing, and spending time with this precious family. Glen loved dancing and every weekend he could be found on the dancefloor at Pat’s of Henderson. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna A. Deshotel of Ville Platte, Pamela S. Chretien and husband Greg of Burleson, TX, and Debra K. Neal and husband David of Hindsville, AR; grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Jacquelyn Delafosse, Tiffany Reed, Levi Neal, Jeffrey Neal, Jacki Brown, Jake Neal, Garrett Chretien, and Sarah Chretien; great grandchildren, Olivia, Nora, Julia, Ellis, Rowan, Latham, Tommy, Jackie Beth, Bayker, and Bristol; and sister, Jaenel Queener of Hernando, MS.

He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Carolyn June Stampley; second wife, JoAnna Bernard Durbin; parents, Allen and Rachel Foster Durbin; son, Robert W. Durbin; brothers, Calvin Durbin and Rodney Durbin; sisters, Wilma Young and Gloria Roberts, and grandson, Timothy John Aymond.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
