Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert Ardoin, 80, will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 1pm in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Ardoin, a resident of Ville Platte, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 12:07pm in Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou.

Survivors include one son, Larry James Melancon and wife, Brenda of Lake Charles; one brother, Easton Ardoin of Morgan City; two sisters, Mary Dupre of Eunice and Pearl McGee of Duralde; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine F. Ardoin; parents, Adam and Donnatile Ardoin; a son, John Randall Ardoin; and two brothers, Sullivan and Elwood Ardoin.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 10am until 9pm and on Thursday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6pm Wednesday.
