Ville Platte Funeral services for Gertrude Johnston, 72, will be held in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30pm Friday, August 15, 2008. Burial will follow in the Chataignier First Baptist Church Cemetery. Fr. Romero will officiate the services.

Ms. Johnston, a resident of Ville Platte, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Savoy Medical Center at 7:40 a.m.

A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by one son, Keith Huval of Eunice; three daughters, Jenny Kessner of Eunice, Faye Huval of Eunice, and Becky Latour and husband, Bart of Ville Platte; one brother, Don Saucier of Eunice; two sisters, Amarella Dupre of Arizona and Sandra Faye Brasseaux of Ville Platte; eight grandchildren, Coty Brown of Ville Platte, Jamie Troy Huval of Eunice, Chasity Fruge of Eunice, Trudy Vuillemont of Eunice, Melissa Huval of New Roads, Anthony Gaspard of Ville Platte, Hailey Latour of Carencro, and Kristina Latour of Ville Platte; and ten great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Johnston; father, John Gilbert Vidrine; mother, Lemie LeBleu Saucier; son, Clifton Huval, Jr.; sister, Alice Lucy King; and a granddaughter, Tina Brown.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
