Ville Platte It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family of Gerta Bordelon, 78 announces that she has been taken home. She passed on Monday, May 10, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow in the Platin Cemetery with Fr. Richard Broussard Celebrant.
Those left behind to cherish her loving memory are her three sons, Joseph Bordelon of Eunice, James R. Bordelon of Ville Platte, and Danny Phillip Bordelon of Pine Prairie nine grandchildren, Shane Bordelon, Shannon Bordelon, Toby Bordelon, Donnie Bordelon, James R. Bordelon, Jr., Kristina Granger, Danny Bordelon, Jr., Bryan Bordelon, and Jonathan Laughlin and numerous great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all knew and loved her.
Now she rest in Heaven with her beloved husband, John R. Bordelon and her parents, Adam and Marie Deshotels.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Peters Church Hall in Pine Prairie beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
