VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald Patrick Morein, 81, announces his passing on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Joshua Guillory officiating.
Gerald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother he will be mourned by his dear wife, Genevieve and their three sons: Patrick Morein and his wife, Helen of Lake Charles, John Morein and his wife, Karen of Ville Platte and Joseph Morein also of Ville Platte. His memory will most certainly be cherished by his fifteen grandchildren: Jason, Rene, Chris, Quentin, Kattie, Shane, Crystal Allison, Tyler, Ben, Alannah Brandon, Kyle, Jeremy and Samantha. He was further blessed with seventeen great grandchildren they were truly the light of his life. Gerald also leaves behind his adoring sisters: Yvonne Kerner of Baton Rouge, Francis Geraci of Michigan, Margaret Veillon of Westlake, Gail Fontenot of Ville Platte, Betty Barzare of Baton Rouge, Jo Marie Baxter of Mississippi and Diane Fergerson of Slidell.
His arrival into Heaven will be celebrated by those who preceded him in death: his parents, Ferdinand and Elby Morein, his three sons, Bernard Morein, Tony Morein and Mark Morein. He will also reunite with his brother, David Glenn Morein and two of his sisters, Dean Walters and Barbara Johnson. They all await his homecoming with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Morein family visitation will take at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 1:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2012 and will continue until
10:00 PM that evening and will resume on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 8:00 AM until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited in his honor Monday evening at 6:30 PM.
