VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gerald Duplechin, Sr., 65, announces his passing at his residence on June 27, 2015. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 3 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Richard Broussard as celebrant.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Gerald will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 17 years, Peggy LaFleur Duplechin of Pine Prairie, sons, Gerald Duplechin, Jr. of Gries Germany, Derek Duplechin and wife Leah of Denham Springs, Tony Duplechin of Denham Springs, daughters, Tanya Hurst and husband Travis of Baton Rouge, Lori Askey and husband Larry of Chicot, Liza Fontenot and husband Todd Duncan of Baton Rouge, Lanie Ledoux and husband Kris of Point Blue, Dr. Lindsey Fruge and husband Adam of Rayne, brothers, John Ory Duplechein and wife Deannie of St. Amant, La., Harold Duplechin and wife Trish of Lafayette, sisters, Ruby Barker and husband Bill of The Villages, Florida, Geri Fontenot of St. Landry, Roma Toncrey of Pine Prairie, and Debbie Crabtree and husband Gene of Pine Prairie. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 9 grandchildren.
Gerald will now reunite in heaven with his parents, Hubert and Theolise Duplechin, sister, Leolta Marie Duplechin and several unborn grandchildren.
At the request of the Duplechin family, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 12 noon until time of services. A rosary will be recited in Mr. Duplechin's honor that same day at 2:15 PM.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, La.
